on Education: Social Impact Design & Exhibit

SEE EVENT DETAILS
What happens when America's public schools become increasingly separated by race and class? Why do high-poverty schools often receive less public funding than other schools in their district? Is the way we pay for schools failing our children?

Join us to explore these topics through art, apparel, and design. This gallery exhibit will showcase the background and realities behind concepts explored in our apparel collection: “on Education”. We’ll kick off with a short discussion around educational equity, and the biggest challenges students in the Bay Area face today. Afterwards, connect with community, learn, and engage on these topics.

Event attendees will have a chance to share in early sketches, apparel concepts, and our approach to designing for social impact. Be the first to shop our designs in-person. 10% of profits go to support Youth Radio in Oakland, California.

This event is sponsored by VSCO.

Our Partners
Youth Radio
Founded in 1993 in Berkeley during a period of heightened youth violence and homicide, Youth Radio was established as an outlet for Bay Area youth to process their experiences and provide an alternative perspective to the prevailing media dialogue. In 2007, Youth Radio moved its headquarters to downtown Oakland, helping transform an under-invested part of the city into a world-class center of art, commerce, and culture.

VSCO
VSCO is a trendsetting art and technology community that empowers authentic creative expression around the world. Celebrating creativity above all else, the VSCO app - a refreshing space void of ads, public likes, or comments - offers creators access to powerful photo editing tools, educational and inspiring content, as well as VSCO X, a membership experience designed to help people around the world reach their creative potential.
