Omar Sosa's third night of residency is devoted to an electro-acoustic ensemble born of the pianist's time as a Bay Area resident in the 1990s. Featuring an all-star cast including a pair of longtime collaborators, drumming luminary Josh Jones and wind master Sheldon Brown, the quartet is completed by bassist Ernesto Mazar Kindelán and began in early 2021 during the pandemic when Sosa returned to the Bay Area for some online performances. They went on to tour the U.S. in 2024 to celebrate the release of director Soren Sorensen's documentary film on Sosa, Omar Sosa's 88 Well-Tuned Drums.
