"Of Here From There" Sculpture Workshops with Ana Teresa Fernández

Join us to make art for the whole city to see!
At these special Imaginate Saturdays, artist Ana Teresa Fernández will lead community members and Creativity Explored artists in sculpting miniature figures with clay, three of which will be selected to be scaled up into full-size sculptures. These sculptures will be featured as the centerpieces of three public art installations taking place across San Francisco in 2020.
Participants will reflect on symbolism and imagery relating to travel, migration, and movement, then sculpt figures in response. Through imagery of animals or modes of transportation, the figures will address some element of transversing space—leaving there, arriving here, and all the transformation that happens in between. Three public installations in San Francisco will feature the sculptures activated with multimedia projections of artwork by CE artists and performances by community-based artists.
Your sculpture could be chosen for the installation. Don’t miss this chance to participate!

En estos talleres especiales de Imaginate Saturdays, artista Ana Teresa Fernández guiará a miembros de la comunidad y artistas de Creativity Explored en esculpir figuras de cerámica en miniatura, tres de las cuales serán elegidas para ampliar en esculturas de tamaño completo. Estas esculturas serán presentados como los puntos focales de tres instalaciones públicos de arte ocurriendo alrededor de San Francisco durante 2020.
