Xiomara
Xiomara's vocal styling flows effortlessly along the Jazz, Soul, R&B and Hip-Hop spectrum. With influences ranging from Afro-Cuban folkloric rhythms through Classical, hers is a unique sound, only partially explained by her West Coast (Berkeley, CA) roots. It's a family thing. With a percussionist father and a pipe organist/music professor grandfather, music for Xiomara is not a choice, it's a calling. Whether her own composition or one of her signature, unconventional takes on a modern classic, Xiomara infuses her every vocal offering with a powerful, raw emotion that leaves audiences spellbound.
Madeline Kenney
Madeline Kenney is an Oakland-dwelling Seattle transplant, whose background in bakeries, neuroscience, and modern dance curiously add up to an individual form of twang-hazey dream-pop. Imagine if Loretta Lynn had a secret shoegaze project and a looper pedal obsession—you might come pretty close to Kenney’s enchanting songs. Recently, Kenney traded in her looper for an ace backing band featuring members of Astronauts, etc., Bells Atlas, and Perhapsy. Working together, these talented musicians expand Kenney’s sound into a Creation Records-influenced fest of buttery distortion, driving rhythms, and soaring vocals. Her debut Signals EP is out now on Company Records. Kenney is working on a full length LP that’s due out in 2017.
1-O.A.K
Part of both hip-hop collectives HBK Gang and the Honor Roll crew, 1-O.A.K. has emerged as both a dexterous producer and a soulful force on the mic. He has produced tracks for East Bay staples Kamaiyah, IAMSU! and Caleborate and his upcoming solo album, Riding In Cars With Girls, is an aptly placed segment of where East Bay R&B & hip-hop lies. 1-O.A.K. is that rare breed of artist who can fluently navigate from making beats to dominating grooves on the mic.
