Cellist Tanya Tomkins is equally at home on Baroque and modern instruments. She has performed on such chamber music series as the Frick Collection, "Great Performances" at Lincoln Center, the 92nd Street Y and the Concertgebouw.

She is acclaimed for her interpretation of the Bach Cello Suites, having performed them at such venues as New York's Le Poisson Rouge, Seattle Early Music Guild, Vancouver Early Music Society, and The Library of Congress. For 20 years Ms Tomkins has been one of the principal cellists in both Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra and Portland Baroque Orchestra, and has appeared with both numerous times as soloist.

On modern cello, she is a long-time participant at the Moab Music Festival, Music in the Vineyards, and is a member of the Left Coast Chamber Ensemble. She recently joined the Delphi Trio. Ms Tomkins has given master classes at Yale, Juilliard, and the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.

Together with Eric Zivian she is co-founder and co-Artistic Director of the Valley of the Moon Music Festival.

Fortepianist Eric Zivian has given recitals in Toronto, New York, Philadelphia, and the San Francisco Bay Area. He has performed concertos with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, the Santa Rosa Symphony and Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra.

He performs extensively on original instruments, both in the Zivian-Tomkins Duo and the Benvenue Fortepiano Trio. He has performed with the Left Coast Chamber Ensemble, the Empyrean Ensemble and Earplay. He is a frequent guest artist on the chamber music series of both the S.F. Symphony and the S.F. Conservatory. Mr. Zivian's compositions have been performed widely in the United States and in Tokyo, and he was commissioned by ASCAP to compose a work premiered by the Seattle Symphony.

Mr. Zivian attended the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto and graduated from Curtis, going on to receive graduate degrees from Juilliard and the Yale School of Music. He studied piano with Gary Graffman and Peter Serkin and composition with Ned Rorem, Jacob Druckman, and Martin Bresnick. He attended Tanglewood both as a performer and as a composer.
