The lunar mare are the large, dark, basaltic plains on Earth's Moon, formed by ancient volcanic eruptions. Beauty born of chaotic origin inspired Jess Konye to create the Mare project in an attempt to encapsulate the beauty of the moon through lush textures. It has since evolved into a 5-piece band with its creative vision and songwriting led by the duo of Jess Konye & Chloe Donovan, accompanied by lead guitarist Jason Romero, Drummer JC Grady, & Bassist Finn Roy. Perceived to be a symbol of sapphic energy throughout history, the moon inspires the band to nod to its similarly sapphic personality accordingly. Having played gigs all around the Bay Area, The San Francisco based band creates an engaging and interactive show for an audience.
