Niō is the power duo collaboration between Davide Tiso (Ephel Duath, Gospel Of The Witches) and Jef Pauly (New Diplomat, Vela Eyes), started in May 2015 in San Francisco.
Reminiscent of acts like Russian Circles and Pelican, there is a very poignant sense of power behind what the guys in Niō are doing. Colossal soundscapes, intricate arrangements and raw emotions - this is post metal you can find yourself lost in.
Kata Is an art metal band, or call it an ominously beautiful post-rock band. The San Diego eclectic eight piece delivers a slow moving, gothic behemoth that balances moments of delicate beauty with overwhelming power. Their songs are crushing, Goliath epics - think classic-era Neurosis meets any era Godspeed You! Black Emperor and throw in some Mike Patton-esque male vocals and Julie Christmas style female vocals.
With two live drummers and a full string section, and vivid visuals, Kata spares no expense on delivering a memorable live performance.
Roland, from San Francisco, formed in early 2012, is writing instrumental music that is sometimes referred to as math rock - characterized by complex, atypical rhythmic structures, stop start dynamics, and syncopated harmonies.
