It all started, when Doctor Dru was a little boy treating his mothers pots and pans with his drumsticks. Dru s youth was about three things: hitting the snare, skateboarding and funk & soul music. He soon started drumming professionally throughout Europe supporting guys like R.Kelly in sold out concert halls.A crash with his skateboard changed everything. “I couldn ́t play t he drums wit h my broken arms anymore, but I was still able to tweak a mixer.” Doctor Dru fell in love with an atari and a drummachine and started improving his production skills. His older sister forced him to spin vinyl at her numerous parties. The clubs liked that, too. Then he quit doing that for a while to begin an experimental phase of sound soul searching. He was producing and writing for a wide variety of artists e.g. Bootsy Collins, one of his heroes. But the 4 to the floor never let him go. He felt, he had some grooves to tell and got back into house music. In 2010 he found some like-minded guys out of the Baalsaal, Hamburg and founded the label JEUDI Records. Now in 2011 after ghostproducing for other DJ ́s, he came out with his own stuff. His debut EP "Ooh Gosh!" was sitting in the Top 5 of the dancecharts for weeks. He also was the mastermind behind the slow house edit "Juicy Fruit" which was a summerhit in 2011 and a great success for the new sublabel Blackjuke Box by EXPLOITED. His latest production, the "Anymore" EP" in collabo with his buddies Adana T wins is out now on BAALSAAL records. It has already a huge feedback in the scene. So we are curious what is coming up next. House is the playground and the pulse keeping it together is his destiny.
