Francesca Lombardo has cultivated a sound of her own, one that represents her multi-disciplinary musical background and transcends the dancefloor with ease. Creating emotional narratives via wistful soundscapes, stirring melodies, hypnotic rhythms and her own mesmerising voice distinguishes her from the crowd.
This Italian-born, classically trained musician carved out her own path in electronic music, criss-crossing the globe as a DJ and live performer, whilst building up a formidable back-catalogue of music.
Relentlessly pushing boundaries, her live set which incorporates a group of instrumentalists to compose and conduct intricate productions, as well as her knack as a DJ to combine captivating rhythms and melodies with dramatic stories, are clear examples of this, furthered still by her striking vocals that wash over crowds with waves of emotion.
2012 saw Francesca’s first release of many on Crosstown Rebels. Now in 2016, a new phase of her career begins, as she prepares to unveil her debut album, a collection of songs that truly represents the essence of what she’s all about, an LP that is forward-thinking, powerful and made from the heart. Live instrumentalists will also feature on this album, merging the world of electronic music with Francesca’s classical upbringing, set to uplift and engage people from all walks of life. The outcome is a combination of grand and orchestral compositions, together with subtle, nuanced numbers.
There’s no doubt that Francesca’s passion and drive to keep innovating in music is unsurpassed and serves as the fuel to keep her inspired, relevant and soundtracking the very best moments of our lives for years to come.

It all started when the...y found themselves up late, gathered around the baby grand piano in Ryan’s kitchen. Tello would be strumming on guitar and Sammy would be fiddling around on the Wurlitzer. It all just came together organically…without knowing it, melodies would form, songs would appear and before anyone realised, Sammy would be singing some off-hand hook and, hey presto, you had what Arthur Russell would call; “first thought, best thought” compositions.
Soon, these impromptu and improvised jam sessions were recorded on iPhone apps before being taken to ‘the lab” (a space about two blocks away) and from there they were transformed into alluring, charming, dance-pop ‘songs’.
With experience of, and backgrounds in, so many genres, Pillow Talk are making some seriously inspiring and beautifully original music. If you’re trying to pin down their exact sound you may have to refer to their motto of ‘D.A.G’ (destroy all genres - a term borrowed from a famed underground San Fran DJ). With influences ranging from the Beach Boys to Sam Cooke, from Freddie Hubbard to Harry Nilsson, and from Larry Heard to Theo Parrish, you can tell these guys are ruled from the right side of their brains. Having just started composing, this trio are still finding their own true groove, with their full potential yet to be explored…
A delightful debut single (‘Love Makes Parks’ on the revered Visionquest imprint) is soon to be followed by a beautiful full length on Life and Death, before following that up with another finely crafted EP for NYC house darlings, Wolf + Lamb. As well as that, a live show is in the works, soon to be debuted later this year. We look forward to following this fresh and exciting new sound and realize some of your deepest secrets are revealed “Pillow Talking”, so we are just lucky to listen in…

JAMES FISH
Electronic music, quality people, and experience design - these are my passions.
The music I make and mix is intended to move your soul and get into your head. As an avid dancer, I feel a connection with the dancefloor whether I'm on it, or playing for it. I believe dance music should be memorable, evoking emotion beyond just a beat.
I've been fortunate enough to create musical experiences on three continents. During my time in Turkey, I played the Istanbul club circuit and organized undergrounds on rooftops and beaches. In Berlin, I coordinated large 'open-air' renegades with an incredibly creative team (and Funktion One sound) hidden around the city.
A recent transplant to SF, I am already amazed by the expressive creativity in music here, and hope to contribute whatever I can.
