One of them, Andrea De Sica, is the great-grandson of Neo-Realist great Vittorio De Sica (“Bicycle Thieves”). His film, “Children of the Night” (9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 10) is a coming-of-age story of friendship in a boarding school.
Other highlights:
A World War II comedy from writer/director/star Pierfrancesco “Pif” Diliberto, “At War for Love” (4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 11);
Giovanni Veronesi’s “No Country of the Young” (8:45 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 11) poses an interesting concept where a twentysomething Italian coulee decides to chuck it all and move to Cuba to start a business;
the first two episodes of the gorgeous new HBO series “The Young Pope,” starring Jude Law as Pope Pius XIII, screens for free (1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 12);
and the closing night film, “The Duel of Wine” (6:15 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 12) is a satire set in the world of competitive wine tasting
followed by a closing night party at nearby Osteria restaurant featuring — you guessed it — a wine tasting.
