Neighborhood Stories: The Tenderloin Edition

Our second installment of Porchlight's 2018 Neighborhood Project finds us at our favorite bar in the heart of the Tenderloin, Edinburgh Castle.Storytellers:Musician Jamin Barton has lived in the Tenderloin for the last two decades. You can see him blowing his saxophone or sawing his saw with a number of popular San Francisco bands including The Barneys, Uke Hunt, Mr. Lucky, Nightshuttle, Earth Girl Helen Brown, and literally too many to name here.Alan Black has long been managing the bar, the literary and theater events, and the mise en scene at the Edinburgh Castle. The writer and photographer has a photo show opening on June 24th at the Andrew Linton Shop, 1429 Grant Ave., SF.Del Seymour is the founder of Code Tenderloin, a community organization that removes the barriers that keep people from securing long-term employment. The unofficial "Mayor of the Tenderloin", a Army veteran, also founded the original Tenderloin Walking Tours which you can find at TL Walking Tours
