The month-long Annual Emeryville Art Exhibition culminates its celebration of the arts with a special dance performance by Nancy Karp + Dancers. On the closing day of the exhibition, there will be two 20-minute site-specific performances of “Studies I. II, III, IV” in the exhibition hall amidst artwork created by more than 100 Emeryville artists and craftspeople. The work includes paintings, sculpture, photographs, ceramics and textiles.
Truly a collaborative effort, the Annual Emeryville Art Exhibition represents the unique character of Emeryville, a city that is small in size but grand in the scale and spirit of its collective creativity. The individual pieces of artwork in the exhibition demonstrate the range of Emeryville artists and show their engagement with a host of aesthetic, political, and social concerns. This inclusive citywide exhibition provides the opportunity to view the work of new artists showing along with continuing artists, resulting in a uniquely ‘Emeryville’ experience.
