Meeting on MONDAY AND WEDNESDAY evenings from 6pm to 9pm, Mud Months provides a communal open ceramic studio to a cohort of artists and makers for eight sessions at a time. The primary focus in the studio is hand building, with a variety of clays and glazes available to choose from and experiment with (all Cone 5). Sessions are led by program director Matt Goldberg, who can help guide and assist with any project ideas you may have.
Please note: Purchase of one month pass gives you access to ALL eight sessions of that month. If you miss a session or two, we will have makeup days to ensure you get to participate in eight studio sessions. We are also offering a three month pass (Sept - Nov), which gives access to 24 sessions total at a discounted rate.
**The first meeting in September will be Sept 4th. SOMArts is closed for Labor Day.
In October, there will be no meeting on Oct 14th.
In November, there will be no meeting on Nov 11th.
One note about wheel-throwing:
The SOMArts ceramic studio is geared towards handbuilding. We have one wheel. If you are interested in throwing, that is totally fine - but please recognize there is limited access and instruction for this discipline. If throwing is the main focus of your ceramic practice, there are a handful of great studios in the city set up to develop that skillset.
