What: Join us in supporting John O'Connell High School at Cigar Bar's Chevere Sunday! In its 2nd year, the Mission Promise Neighborhood (MPN) Scholarship Fund is specifically for John O'Connell graduating seniors.
Who: One-time awards are granted to a pair of first-generation, college-going students from John O'Connell High School, located in the Mission District. Students will be awarded scholarships in the amounts of $1,500 to $5,000 in late May.
Impact: Last year, our community fundraising efforts helped raise $10,000. As a result, we were able to support four college-bound students with scholarships. Based on our work at John O'Connell, we're excited to report that graduation rates are up, as well as rates of students applying to college!
Come out and celebrate Mother's Day with your family & friends at a community fundraiser supporting our City's college-going students. The evening will be filled with dancing to the very best of Afro-Latino music such as Timba, Salsa, Reggaeton, Cubaton, Dancehall, Bachata & Merengue!
*Come early and enjoy live music of Dos Four from 7-8PM
**Cuban cuisine from the Paladar Tropical food truck will be available. They'll be parked right outside!
***Prize raffle drawing will be held throughout the evening on the hour
