Artistic Partner Daniel Hope and New Century Chamber Orchestra celebrate Mozart's birthday with a debut appearance by German pianist Sebastian Knauer. Marking the composer's birth date that same week (January 27), the all-Mozart program will showcase Knauer as soloist for Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 23. Also highlighted is the composer's Violin Concerto No. 3 in G Major, KV 216, featuring Daniel Hope as soloist, Adagio and Fugue in C minor, KV 546 and Symphony No. 29 in A Major, KV 201.
A native of Hamburg, Sebastian Knauer has performed professionally for over a quarter of a century appearing in numerous prestigious venues in more than fifty countries. His extensive range of repertoire is highlighted in a diverse discography that includes critically acclaimed recordings "Bach & Sons" and "Vienna 1789" lauded as "Brilliant" (Stern), "Fantastic" (Neue Zurcher Zeitung) and "Excellent" (Die Presse Wien). Berlin Classics released Sebastian Knauer's latest album "Bach & Sons II" in May 2017. Further accolades include an ECHO Klassik award and Grammy nomination for "East meets West," a joint project with his regular duo partner Daniel Hope.
