MOVING IN STEREO: EDDIE C / DJ M3 / JOEY ALANIZ

Eddie C
Raised in Southern Ontario somewhere between Detroit and Montreal, Eddie C began his experiments in music some time in the late 80s. Inspired first by Hip Hop and the burgeoning Acid House scene, he began making tape edits of late night radio and shortly thereafter began visiting record shops and warehouse parties to discover the music first hand. Record digging, DJing and production has since been a way of life for the man, followed closely by an opposing passion for skiing which lead him to his 10 year sabbatical in the Rocky Mountains of Canada. With plenty of time over the past decade for reflection and research in his log cabin studio, C has recently re-located and reconnected with the electronic music community in Berlin. His raw yet sophisticated approach to production has yield.

DJ M3
DJ M3 aka Manny is a major influence in SF’s music scene. Launching the Green Gorilla Lounge DJ crew and record label in the 90s, which organized and played many of SF’s most notable underground events. Manny was soul proprietor of Lower Haight’s vinyl music boutique ‘Black Pancakes’, which led to the opening of the The Triple Crown nightclub and now his most recent collaborative project Monarch. M3 continues to rock San Francisco and looks forward to upcoming music release in early 2014, with Sleight of Hands on Smoke N' Mirrors.

Joey Alaniz
His older brother was a mobile dj. At the age of 14, Joey would sneak in to his brothers studio when he was gone and scratch the shit out of anything he could get his hands on. Back then it was all hip hop but when those A. sides couldn’t be played anymore, he discovered the B. side dance tracks and was instantly hooked.

His sound selection and journey-ess programming has taken him to play in far off lands like Kenya, Mexico, Hawaii, New York and all the major clubs in San Francisco. He held down a 3 year residency at the legendary San Francisco night club, The End Up doing Sunday Mass.

Now he spends his days mastering the art of fried rice, whiskey consumption, looking busy while not doing anything at all and working on original material which he will be releasing this year. He also does a new party in San Francisco called Common Ground which is now on its third year and counting which I hear is kinda sorta of amazing. Check out his soundcloud below. If you like what you hear, please follow him and leave a comment. Thank you, enjoy and see you on the dance floor.
