Nothing says Happy Mother's Day like an all-day metal festival. Ok so, maybe it's not exactly the gift dear old mom has in mind (unless moshing happens to be her thing), but for South Bay metal fanatics, this will be an incredible ear-bleeding day of 16 cross genre metal bands, including Kinetik's complex prog-metal sounds and Short Fuse's bare bones metal slam. The whole thing starts at 2pm on Saturday and goes till 1:30am, so metal maniacs will still have time to take mom out for brunch the next morning, even if they are a little hungover and sleep deprived. This is the fifth annual Mother's Day Metal Fest, and includes two stages: The "Death" stage and the "Slaughter" stage. Dismembered Carnage, Newtdick and Accidentally Murdered also play. (KF)
