DEEP SUGAR: The story began nine years ago when international dance music recording artist Ultra Naté and key friends, artists & DJs from Baltimore made a commitment to give something back to the scene and keep it thriving. Their goal was to create a world-renowned, marquis dance party that follows in the footsteps of Paradise Garage, Zanzibar, The Warehouse, Shelter, and Body & Soul.
The Deep Sugar party takes place every 2nd Saturday of the month at The Paradox in Baltimore, one of the East Coast's premier venues, and showcases both Baltimore resident DJs and world-renowned guest DJs and performing artists. Past performances have included Jody Watley, Tony Humphries, DJ Spen, SuSu Bobien, DJ Marley Marl, Terry Hunter, Martha Wash, CeCe Peniston, Louie Vega, Jocelyn Brown, Mr. V, Barbara Tucker, Kathy Sledge, Crystal Waters, Colton Ford, Quentin Harris, Inaya Day and Kevin Aviance - just to name a few.
The Deep Sugar sound is characterized by a blend of soulful house with dance and disco classics thrown in, while giving a nod to the harder techy sounds of Europe - a formula that has kept Sugar's partygoers' feet rooted to the dance floor remembering the past and looking towards the future.
MIGHTY REAL is a semi-monthly event at Mighty that showcases the roots, present and future of the deeper sides of house, soul and disco funk. The night brings San Francisco some of the biggest names that define house music to play alongside resident David Harness.
“Mighty Real” is also a production event with theatrical flourishes matching a new theme for each party. Like big club nights of years’ past - prepare for surprises such as dancers, famous queens, photo booths, fancy decor and other quirky elements to make each party special. All of this is showcased on the Mighty sound and visual systems, and surrounded by one of the most inviting and unique music venues in San Francisco.
