Michael Hurley is a legendary American vocalist, guitarist, pianist, and fiddler. His debut album, First Songs, was released in 1964, and was recorded on the same reel-to-reel machine that taped Lead Belly's Last Sessions. His 1976 LP, Have Moicy!, was a collaboration with the Unholy Modal Rounders and Jeffrey Frederick & The Clamtones, and was named "the greatest folk album of the rock era" by Robert Christgau of The Village Voice. Since then, Michael has continued to tour and record regularly, and has performed at the annual Nelsonville Music Festival in 2008, 2010, 2011, and 2012.
