The old '70s and '80s metal songs still hold up. It doesn't matter if they're played at full volume on distorted guitars and drums, or reimagined on trumpets and guitarrons. Metalachi aims to prove this point by taking all the classic metal tunes (Ozzy, Iron Maiden, Guns n' Roses) and transposing them into traditional mariachi songs. Yes, it sounds ridiculous-and it is ridiculous, but it's really fun, and metal fanatics who've heard "Crazy Train" a million times, should find pleasure in hearing it one more time, but this time with upbeats, horns and sweet harmonies. It still rips, no matter what genre it's twisted into. -- Aaron Carnes
