Join the Santa Cruz Museum of Art & History along with local military and veterans organizations to commemorate Santa Cruz’s 147th Memorial Day.
Observance held in the quiet Grand Army of the Republic plot at Evergreen Cemetery. This traditional remembrance features musical and spoken tributes, a keynote address by Enid Baxter Ryce, a film professor at CSUMB and guest curator of the Santa Cruz Museum of Art & History’s current exhibition on Fort Ord, Planet Ord, and other community leaders. Cost: free.
After the hour-long program, enjoy a BBQ luncheon at the Portuguese Hall hosted by United Veteran’s Council of Santa Cruz County, Veteran of Foreign Wars Post 7263, American Legion Post 64, Veteran of Foreign Wars Post 10110. Cost: $5/person.
