Soft Times Gallery is pleased to present "Marmalade Visions": a dazzling, evocative, and lyrical exhibit featuring the works by Kevin Sabo, Sun Park, and Will Hutnick. This exhibit includes the unique painting and installations by the 3 artists, which play together across pattern and color in unexpected ways.
Soft Times Gallery seeks to present the works of these 3 talented emerging contemporary artists in a way that highlights the curious and surprising ways that their artworks coincide and complement one another.
About the artists:
Will Hutnick is an artist and curator based in Wassaic, NY. He received his M.F.A. from Pratt Institute and his B.A. from Providence College. Hutnick is a 2021 NYSCA/NYFA Artist Fellow in Painting, as well as a past grant recipient from the Berkshire Taconic Foundation and the Foundation for Contemporary Art.
Sun Park is a visual artist based in San Francisco, California. The environments she creates invite viewers into a deeply intimate internal space, an embodied space that exists beyond symbols. With no solid ground or single point of origin, her work leaves room for the unknown and calls on the viewers' intuition. Park is currently pursuing her MFA at San Francisco State University, where she taught digital art, and co-founded the Art Student Union.
Kevin Sabo is a painter currently based in Richmond, VA (USA). He trained and studied art throughout his youth and graduated with a BFA in Studio Art from James Madison University in 2015. His paintings are typically multi-media - acrylic, ink, spray, collage work that is largely based around the figure, often playing with character and fashion. Themes of queer identity, satire, existential revelations can be spotted throughout his expressive work. Sabo describes his paintings as large sketches, as they are never pre-determined ahead of the end result.
