About Marie Veronique:
Marie-Veronique Nadeau is a chemist who founded Marie Veronique in 2002. An inventor at heart who suffered from teenage acne, she was moved to create her own products when she could find nothing on the market that was clean and effective to address her rosacea. From there, she went on to develop a line for acne and was one of the first to formulate a non-nano zinc oxide sunscreen. She continues to lead the way towards safe yet effective skincare, determined to move an industry ensconced in hype into the realm of science. She is a trained esthetician, holds degrees in Math and Science, and is a former high school chemistry teacher. She collaborates with her daughter, Jay Nadeau, physicist and bio-medical engineer, to carefully choose each ingredient in her products to solve real skin issues and address the causes of aging at the source.
About Kristina Holey:
Kristina Holey is a skin care specialist, with a focus on the scientific and holistic processes of the body. Kristina’s philosophy of creating a balanced and respectful ecosystem stems from her fascination in human anatomy and how to work with the body to obtain optimal wellness.
Kristina currently resides in San Francisco, after spending years living abroad in Paris and also in New York City. It was in Paris that she held an apprenticeship with renowned Parisian skin expert, Joelle Ciocco. At the Joelle Ciocco Center for Skin Care, she was given the opportunity to treat a wide range of international clients, skin types and conditions, with Joelle’s custom and celebrated techniques.
Additionally, Kristina studied at the ISIPCA (Institut Supérieur International des Parfums, Cosmétiques et Arômes Alimentaires), one of the world’s most prestigious fragrance and cosmetics schools. Her training was centered on the the science behind cosmetic formulation, pure plant extracts, and their effects on skin anatomy and wellness, as well as thorough analysis of the efficacy of modern skincare and beauty products.
The unique pairing of her scientific background in chemistry and cosmetic formulation, California roots, and French training enables Kristina to provide effective treatments as well as expert advice on skin routines, body awareness, and overall wellness.
She believes that by creating a nourishing environment through internal health we enable the skin to function both optimally and innately. Through consciously supporting the natural ecosystem of our skin, in combination of the appropriate products, we can obtain the results of ultimate beauty- both inside and out.
About the collaboration:
All the products are biomimetic, that is, they are specifically designed to help nature achieve optimum health by supplying the building blocks required for proper maintenance at all levels of the skin, from the stratum corneum down to the dermis. Skin microbiome balance, another important factor in the skin health equation, is also very much front and center in the design process.
The line stands in the forefront of natural skin care because Kristina and Marie believe very strongly that saying no is not enough. Criteria such as “natural” and “toxin-free” should be givens in the creation of truly functional products, not ends unto themselves. The latest findings in skin physiology and microbiology drive MV+ KH design; for example the cutting-edge products make use of microceutical co-enzymes that kick-start biosynthetic processes, and take care to follow nature’s lipid management systems as closely as possible while at the same time avoiding ingredients like essential oils and microcidal preservatives that can interfere with healthy skin function.  The result is products that have no scent, yet leave the skin feeling soothed, nourished, and ultimately, healthy.
