ZK Gallery, in partnership with the Canadian Consulate in San Francisco, is pleased to announce an exhibition of new paintings by Marie Catherine Péloquin. Opening reception will be held on Friday, June 30th from 6:30 to 8:00pm and will be on view through July 9th.
The event will be part of a series of events put on by the Canadian Consulate in San Francisco in honor of Canada's 150th anniversary.
Péloquin's paintings are based on her curiosity about quantum physics as well as her pantheistic beliefs about the universe. One can find at the basis of Péloquin's paintings a multitude of particles that appear to burst and harmonize the space. Her spontaneous "explosions" give birth to energetic pathways that exceed the frames of her paintings to signify a world that is in perpetual change.
Marie Catherine Péloquin was born in Montreal in 1967, and studied art history at Laval University in Quebec City. While studying at Laval she developed a strong appreciation for visual artists and now considers them almost supernatural. She quickly learned that to be an artist one must first appeal to the emotions of art lovers and in this regard, she has much to offer.
Marie Catherine Péloquin has exhibited works in Canada as well as internationally.
