March For Freedom and Justice

SEE EVENT DETAILS
Join us as we begin the Summer of Love for the 21st century and introduce "5 Demands, Not One Less", peacefully marching for the injustices, disease outbreaks, and economic devastation wreaking havoc in our beloved country and our fragile world. This is a family event so bring your masks, keep social distancing practices in mind, and spread the word! We begin a Global Movement, a new revolution spreading messages of hope for justice, peace, love and unity our world so desperately needs. Be sure to bring some water and wear flowers in your hair if you can. See you there, please share!

Th event will begin 12 PM in front of the San Francisco Ferry building and end in front of the San Francisco City Hall. It will last approximately 1 hour each on Friday and Saturday, June 19 and 20.

Schedule Order:
- Introduction of Five Demands, Not One Less by Fernando L.
- Kneeling/Minute of Silence, Star Spangled Banner
- March to San Francisco City Hall with Chants
- Singing Les Misérables "Do You Hear the People Sing?"
- "I Remember A Dream" speech, modeled after MLK Jr.

Hosted by American Leaders and March For Peace.
----------------------------------------------------------------
Start 12 PM in front of San Francisco Ferry Building.
5 Demands, Not One Less.

1. Establish an independent inspector body that investigates misconduct or criminal allegations and controls evidence like body camera video. This body will be at the state and federal level with a high degree of autonomy free from corrupt influence, have the ability to investigate and arrest other law enforcement officers (LEOs), and investigate law enforcement agencies.
2. Demand that states create a requirement to establish board certification with minimum education and training requirements to provide licensing for police. Many areas only require LEOs to attend just 5 months worth of training, which is simply too short and too little. In order to be a LEO, you must possess that license. The inspector body in #1 can revoke the license.
3. Refocus police resources on Training & De-escalation instead of purchasing military equipment and require LEOs to be from the community they police.
4. Adopt the "absolute necessity" doctrine for lethal force as implemented in other states.
5. Codify into law the requirement for police to have positive control over the evidence chain of custody. If the chain of custody is lost for evidence, the investigative body in #1 can hold the LEO/LE liable for any damages it has caused.

Star Spangled Banner

Oh, say can you see by the dawn's early light
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars through the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming?

And the rocket's red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there.
Oh, say does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?

Chants

- Free America
- Democracy Now
- Equality Now
- I Can't Breathe
- Five Demands, Not One Less

Les Misérables Lyrics

Do you hear the people sing?
Singing a song of angry men?
It is the music of a people
Who will not be slaves again

When the beating of your heart
Echoes the beating of the drums
There is a life about to start
When tomorrow comes

Will you join in our crusade?
Who will be strong and stand with me?
Beyond the barricade
Is there a world you long to see?

Then join in the fight
That will give you the right to be free
Do you hear the people sing?
Singing a song of angry men?

It is the music of a people
Who will not be slaves again
When the beating of your heart
Echoes the beating of the drums

There is a life about to start
When tomorrow comes
Will you give all you can give
So that our banner may advance

Some will fall and some will live
Will you stand up and take your chance?
The blood of the martyrs
Will water the meadows of France

Do you hear the people sing?
Singing a song of angry men?
It is the music of a people
Who will not be slaves again

When the beating of your heart
Echoes the beating of the drums
There is a life about to start
When tomorrow comes

"I Remember A Dream" speech by Fernando Lorenzo modeled after Martin Luther King Jr's "I Have A Dream" speech.

End 1 PM at San Francisco City Hall.

End Song: Aquarius (Let the Sunshine in)
By The Fifth Dimension

When the moon is in the Seventh House
And Jupiter aligns with Mars
Then peace will guide the planets
And love will steer the stars
This is the dawning of the age of Aquarius
Age of Aquarius
Aquarius!
Aquarius!

Harmony and understanding
Sympathy and trust abounding
No more falsehoods or derisions
Golden living dreams of visions
Mystic crystal revelation
And the mind's true liberation
Aquarius!
Aquarius!

When the moon is in the Seventh House
And Jupiter aligns with Mars
Then peace will guide the planets
And love will steer the stars
This is the dawning of the age of Aquarius
Age of Aquarius
Aquarius!
Aquarius!
Aquarius!
Aquarius!

[Instrumental and tempo shift]

Let the sunshine, let the sunshine in, the sunshine in
Let the sunshine, let the sunshine in, the sunshine in
Let the sunshine, let the sunshine in, the sunshine in

[Continue to end with concurrent scat]

Oh, let it shine, c'mon
Now everybody just sing along
Let the sun shine in
Open up your heart and let it shine on in
When you are lonely, let it shine on
Got to open up your heart and let it shine on in
And when you feel like you've been mistreated
And your friends turn away
Just open your heart, and shine it on in
