This August, dive into summer fun on a Saturday afternoon packed with hands-on gallery activities for all ages!
MakeArt Family Day invites visitors of all ages to experience the magic of art-making as a means to explore MCD's exhibitions and build intergenerational connections. From 12 - 4 PM, our galleries are filled with hands-on activities allowing visitors to learn and explore the techniques, materials, and themes of our current exhibitions "Beau McCall: Buttons On!" and "A Roadmap to Stardust" through hands-on, all-ages art activities inspired by the exhibitions' bold materials and themes. Design your own identity buttons, craft constellation cards, sculpt clay diffusers, and more!
Plus, collaboratively create a tactile touchpoint for 'Judith Schaechter: Super / Natural' to help make this upcoming exhibition more accessible!
Want to attend MakeArt Family Day but prefer a more sensory-friendly space? Join us from 12-2pm Sunday, August 24 for Sensory Sunday, a dedicated space for the disability community, including Neurodivergent visitors looking for a sensory-friendly, quieter, less crowded MakeArt Family Day experience. Attendance for this portion is capped at 35.
?? Don't miss out! Kids 12 and under and MCD Members are FREE.
$10 General Admission, $8 for Students and Seniors. MCD Members FREE.
