Assembled in early 2017 consisting of in-demand Bay Area veterans - drummer and bandleader Ezra Lipp (Phil Lesh & Friends, Sean Hayes), bassist Steve Adams (ALO, Nicki Bluhm & The Gramblers) and guitar wizard Roger Riedlbauer (Jolie Holland), this innovative trio from Oakland, CA sets out to connect with their listeners, creating a mentally-stimulating, emotionally-resonate, highly-danceable, and distinctly-transformative experience where everyone feels just a little more magical. An indie-rock trio at its core, MITO combines a slew of diverse influences to create an original sound of intelligent songwriting and heart-felt, improvisationalfearlessness. Magic In The Other’s debut record, What We Know Is Possible, released in September 2018 is out now and has been met with very warm reception. MITO will continue to tour in support of this record throughout 2018 and 2019 and look forward to the next chapter in their development.Oona Ruin oona.bandcamp.comOona Ruin is the newest project from Bay Area veteran Oona Garthwaite. Born into a musical family in rural West Marin, she picked up piano from her dad and her sister, guitar while living in Spain, and singing from life. A memorable vocalist since her earliest days, Oona's primary focus is songwriting. A bloodletting of sorts, Oona Ruin is a controlled burn deriving strength from vulnerability, tucked in a deceptively simple aesthetic that draws at turns from Courtney Barnett and the Gossip (with a little Led Zeppelin for good measure). Layering her pure vocals over stripped-down guitar, bass and drums, Garthwaite sings of anger and disenchantment, pain and power, worth and who gets to define it — with undercurrents of humor, hope and a renewed sense of self.
