Antonio Ferrari, aka Dj Ralf, born in ’57, is a night clubbing icon since 1987.
His training is based on two decisive moments. Comes from the cross-section of rock music and in the first 80 years occupied the local alternative console in his town Perugia as “ Lacugnana “, “ Story Teller “ and “ Norman the President “.
A type of innovative club within which DJ Ralf was able to express their tastes in acting freely mix different genres together and coming out of the rigid styles of the time.
This was the first major step in his artistic and musical education, lived in Perugia at that moment in history was in full swing represents a landmark of culture and music on the national scene thanks to the intense night life and university.
In 1987 Antonio Ferrari decided to embark on a journey through the Big Apple cities in the world reference for fashion, music and art. The New York of that period swept the globe with a new trend: the House Music. This was the second decisive moment in the musical life of the rope-dancer DJ Ralf, who intoxicated by this trend made it his musical banner to fit your style. It was at that period, with two partners, gave birth to Ultra Violet, who was one of the parties primy totally focused on the Italian house music.
He has worked and still works in many famous discos either in Italy on abroad. To name a few: Cocoricò, where he is still resident, Adrenaline, Alterego, Area City, Divinae Follie, Echoes , Ethos Mama, Fluid, Goa, Guendalina, Hollywood (serata Pervert), Maffia, Matis, Mazoom, Metropolis, Magazzini Generali, The Bank, Muretto, Pervert, Pleigine, Red Zone, Tenax , Kama Kama, Villa delle Rose, Pacha, Amnesia, Privilege e Space di Ibiza, Cavo Paradiso di Mykonos, Crobar di Miami in occasione della Winter Music Conference, Ministry of Sound di Londra, Roxy di Amsterdam, Space di Ibiza, Vertigo di Londra, Drop Honk Kong, Drop Shangai, Bar Room di Miami, Club Liquid…and many others.
For Ralf the music elevates the spirit and frees the nervous tension becoming indispensable requirements of our daily lives.
Having been featured in Dj Mag; Rolling Stone, The Mucchio Selvaggio, Playboy, Time Out, GQ,Vanity Fair, Vogue to name few.
In 2006 born his label : LATERRA RECORDINGS.
First release with his colleague and friend Alex Neri, I’VE DONE IT, …..the others projects of LATERRA REC. are: KRADDA by Ricky Montanari & Lele Pasini ; TUNGUSKA / TOYS by Federico Locchi & Frankie Watch ; LU RAGNO_IMPOVERITO by Dario Lotti & Guido Nemola “electropizzica” Remix ( opera di Cesare dell’ Anna ); ETRURIA by Luca Agnelli; DJ SOSSA PJ by Sossa and Marco Scocchi; COLOMBA / MARCA LA RUTA by Sossa, Scocchi the first and by Adicto Sound the second; LAZY & SLOW / FUTURA IS BACK by Carlo Carità.
During the summer 2007 from July 10th till September 11th he presented his own party ALMA at Privilege. He took personally care of musical identity and he played together with Steve Bug, Timo Maas, Mathew Johnson, Ellen Allien and more……
After a stop LaTerra Recordings continuer its ascent with others intresting releases:
Obesaic from Sossa; Lelle and Mentiras from Federico Locchi and Uglh, a success;
Le Pale/ In Barca from Alfredo Hp; Simpatheia Ep from Pizeta; Come on and Get it from Memoryman aka Uovo and Sairlè and dodudo from Luca Albano and Zimon.
In June 2010 and 2011 during one of the most important electronic music festival Sonar in Barcelona on the world organized at the Hotel Omm in Barcelona, together with other Italian labels of considerable importance, the showcase Who Is Who Is Out.
Ralf in the meantime as well as being committed to 360 degrees with evenings around Italy and Europe decided to organize two Sundays a month Bellaciao his own night in his hometown Perugia.
Bellaciao is for five winters a success in music and entertainment;
has now become a regular event, which attracts people not only from Umbria but from whole Italy. Bellaciao on Monday sends Perugia in a state of oblivion. The evening comes from the usual patterns of traditional evenings: there is no PR, there are no vocalists and DJs are all strictly Italian, emerging and not, selected personally by Ralf.
