THE ATOMIC BEAT SOCIETY.
This new incarnation of Cathey Cotten and Elliott's Evil Plan is a 10 piece "Big Band" that is a fan of polyester bell bottoms and oversize Bootsy Collins sunglasses. Whether they are performing dance songs from the 70s that have a political bite and a gospel soul or updated arrangements of tunes by Issak Hayes, Stevie Wonder or the Beatles, The Atomic Beat Society's fresh take on classic grooves keep fans on the dance floor.
Striking a fine balance between exciting arrangements and fiery solos, The Atomic Beat Society never fails to delight with their feel-good, high-energy hybrid of funk, soul and jazz. At the band's core is Cotten (bandleader, singer), Elliott Shannonhouse (lead guitar), Byron Rynes (guitar), John-Paul McLean (bass), Steve Guerrero (drums), Ron Ransford (percussion) and Gig Anderson (keyboard). Alongside this core group, the Society features the finest horn section from the vibrant San Francisco Bay Area jazz and funk scene - alto saxophonist Ray Clement (Wall Street), trumpeter Rich Armstrong and tenor saxophonist Rob Zuckerman (Cold Blood).

The Guardians of the GoodGroove, this 5 Piece Funk Band can really jam and not afraid to let go and get nasty with it with songs influenced by Soul-Era Pioneers such as Ohio Players, Bar-Kays, Funkadelic to name a few. Now is the time to get ready for the real. Tight, Crisp Grooves played dynamically, many would say they are ahead of their time.
