Celebrate Lunar New Year and the year of the pig with Youth Art Exchange! We’ll have free, family-friendly arts and crafts activities related to celebrating the new year, including decorating a new year tree, paper cutting, and making block prints. Make art to take home, and to be displayed in the xSpace Arts Hub gallery space for the month of February! Come with your friends and family and bring your own charms or papers to hang on the tree.
All activities are FREE, so come on by!
About Youth Art Exchange and xSpace Arts Hub:
Youth Art Exchange (youthartexchange.org) sparks a shared creative practice between professional artists and public high school students, furthering youth as leaders, thinkers, and artists in San Francisco. To accomplish this, Youth Art Exchange offers citywide arts education programming and events across disciplines such as architecture, photography, fashion design, printmaking, music production, and dance.
[x]space (xspacesf.org) was transformed from a meat market (Chuck’s Market) that was shuttered for nearly a decade, and is focused on creative exchange between artists and community. It is an active arts center by Youth Art Exchange with free classes and programming for San Francisco public high school students, public workshops, a youth printshop, ArtSpan’s artist studios, an art gallery, community meeting space, and venue rentals.
