Luna Park Chalk Art Festival

SEE EVENT DETAILS
Celebrating it's 12th year, the Luna Park Chalk Art Festival attracts over 3,000 artists, students, vendors, and community members for a colorful day in San José's Backesto Park. Artists, students and chalk enthusiasts create over 250 pieces of diverse art throughout the park’s pathways, including original works, classical recreations, traditional Italian madonarri street painting, 3D realistic works, cartoons, modern abstractions, and more.

In addition to the artwork, the festival features a main stage of local musicians, dancers and performers, as well as local food trucks and vendor booths.

The festival is free to attend and enjoy.

THIS YEAR ONLY, the festival will continue on Sunday, September 22 as VIVACALLESJ will take over Backesto Park. Artists and vendors may participate on both days! (more details on this soon!)

Proceeds benefit the Luna Park Arts Foundation and support:

Grants to K-12 schools and youth programs who participate in the Luna Park Chalk Art Festival for their visual and performing arts programs
Providing chalk materials and outreach artists to local schools and community events
Providing a colorful community event!
Providing paid opportunities for artists, performers and teachers
