Luciano is a renowned second-generation roots reggae artist and poet from Jamaica. He scored his first big his hit, "Shake It Up Tonight," in 1993, and later became a fixture in the "Rasta Renaissance" in dancehall music during the mid-1990's. His 2001 album A New Day was even nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Reggae Album, and was awarded the Order of Distinction in the rank of Officer in 2007 in recognition of his contributions to reggae music.
