Live Music & Dance: Bongo Sidibe and Duniya Dance & Drum Company Album Pre-Release Party!

Bongo Sidibe is a Traditional Drummer and Vocalist Artist from Conakry Guinea, in West Africa. Bongo Sidibe uses his traditional background as an artist to create a unique style of music (Traditional, Funk, Reggae Mandingue, Ragga Murfin and Dancehall). He uses his style of music to send a message to the world about Peace and Community Building.

Since arriving in the U.S., Bongo has performed with Rhythm Village, Joan Baez, Mickey Hart, the Grateful Dead, and Black Nature from the Sierra Leone Refugee Allstars. He is also the a singer and percussionist with Dogon ligths band, teaching Artist with Loco bloco, performing arts workshop, musician accompanist with SF Ballet outreach program and Artist resident with Ruth Asawa school of the art with world music department.

Come out to Ashkenaz (1317 San Pablo, Berkeley, CA) on January 31st at 8pm to dance and celebrate the pre-release of Bongo's Solo Album, "Root Boy (Pon pon Pon)." The evening will feature Bollywood, Bhangra, and West African dance and drum performances by Duniya Dance & Drum Company. See you there!
