Recognized by DownBeat Magazine as “Rising Star on Guitar,” Hristo is a media darling and a fan favorite. The music media calls Hristo “one of the newest and most innovative voices in modern jazz guitar.” He has been captivating large festival audiences all over the globe. Only in his 30’s, he has already released nine critically-acclaimed albums as a leader plus four more as co-leader. His impressionistic guitar style -- described by Jazziz as “an impressionistic sound painting” -- combines elements of modern jazz, folk, classical and avant-garde sonic hues. He embodies the raw electric energy of Jimi Hendrix, and his music moves audiences like Hendrix could do. Hristo has performed at the most prestigious jazz clubs and festivals around the world and continues to amaze critics and audiences alike.
During the 3-day residency at Black Cat, Hristo will be presenting the music of his newest, critically-acclaimed album, “Of Light and Shadows.”
