LIVE JAZZ - FROM NYC: GRAMMY-WINNING TRUMPET SENSATION MAURICE “MOBETTA” BROWN

SEE EVENT DETAILS
at Black Cat (see times)

Trumpet frontman for Anderson Paak on his worldwide tour.  February appearance on the Jimmy Fallon Show. Month-long residency at NYC’s iconic Blue Note.   Maurice “Mobetta” Brown hits the stage of Black Cat flying high, fusing jazz, hip-hop, blues and rock to create a sound tantalizing sound unique to Mobetta.   A member of Tedeschi Trucks Band since 2010, he shared the 2011 Grammy for Best Blues Album.
He has recorded and performed with exceptional artists across genres, including The Roots, Santana, Roy Hargrove, Aretha Franklin, Talib Dweli, Wyclef Jean, De La Soul, Musiq Souchild and others.  As a producer and composer he has recorded multiple albums including his highly-acclaimed 2017 release “The Mood”. The strong commercial success of his debut album “Hip to Bop” allowed him to chart a fiercely independent course, constantly experimenting and testing the limits of his music.  He’s obsessed with lyricism, and builds rich, layered melodies. If all this is not enough, come see his custom-made hip-hop jazz instrument, self described as “the sexiest trumpet ever made!”
