LIVE JAZZ - FROM BROOKLYN: WAYNE TUCKER & THE BAD MOTHA’S!

SEE EVENT DETAILS
at Black Cat (see times)

Trumpet/Composer Wayne Tucker’s 2018 album “Wake Up and See the Sun” awakened the jazz world to Wayne’s electric virtuosity and mesmerizing compositions. “It is larger than life...It makes you feel good, it makes you laugh, dance and sing along!” says All About Jazz. The album creates a musical collage inspired by songwriters Stevie Wonder and Frank Ocean, jazz icons like Miles Davis and Dizzy Gillespie, composers such as Debussy and Beethoven, hip-hop legends including Jay-Z and Nas, as well as new artists like Ambrose Akinmusire and Kendrick Lamar. His music magically blends jazz, classical, hip-hop, R&B and more! In addition to playing with many of today’s jazz stars, he has toured with Elvis Costello and the popular Haitian band Djet-X. He has performed at some of the top music venues in the world including Avery Fisher Hall, Birdland, and The Kennedy Center. He has been featured at clubs and festivals worldwide, and regularly hits the stage around New York with many of today’s rising young jazz stars.
The Bad Motha’s include: Wayne Tucker (trumpet), Javier Santiago (keys), Guilio Xavier (bass), and Diego Ramirez (drums).

**Seated tickets are for specified time on ticket. Table reservations are for two hours. Following that, guests are welcome to enjoy the rest of the show from the bar/standing room. Guests are encouraged and welcome to show up a little early to catch the show and grab a drink from the bar. Tax and service charge included in ticket price. Tickets usually available at the door after Eventbrite sales have ended.**
