Golden Globe winner Amanda McBroom has been called "…the greatest cabaret performer of her generation, an urban poet who writes like an angel and has a voice to match." Bette Midler’s Grammy winning version of Amanda’s song "The Rose" hit number one around the world in 1979 but it was Amanda's performance of her own song on the Golden Globes and The Tonight Show that launched her career as a singer as well as songwriter. Her songs have been recorded by the likes of Bette Midler, Leanne Rimes, Barry Manilow, Judy Collins, Harry Belafonte, Betty Buckley, Stephanie Mills, The Manhattan Transfer and many others. Amanda's brand new album, Voices features a duet version of her classic "The Rose", with country superstar Vince Gill.
Amanda will be joined by Johnny Mercer Award winning songwriter Michele Brourman, who's own songs have been recorded by Olivia Newton-John, Dame Cleo Laine, Thelma Houston and others.
Live at the Orinda! Concert Series features award winning artists in the beautiful and historic Orinda Theatre's intimate 180 seat theatre. All shows are up-close and personal - a night you will not forget.
