Listening Parties offer listeners the chance to get behind-the- scenes and hear about music from the artist's perspective. The format is an on-stage conversation in the Robert N. Miner Auditorium, accompanied by the artist's pick of recorded, and sometimes live, excerpts. The conversation closes with questions from the audience followed by a reception with the artist.
This Listening Party features 2021-22 Resident Artistic Director Terri Lyne Carrington, discussing her diverse range of programming for her week of residency that includes her Social Science band, a tribute to the late piano genius Geri Allen, a multimedia night of improvisation inspired by Wayne Shorter, and song by great women composers. Her performances run February 17 through 20, 2022.
