NIAD Executive Director Amanda Eicher moderates a conversation with artist Xi Nan about her work in ceramics and installation over a casual sit-down meal in the gallery. Food catered by the Kebabery, Oakland. Wine & beer included. Space is limited.

Xi Nan was born and raised in Jilin, China, and was selected nationally by the China Disabled Person Federation to study abroad at RCN United World College in Norway, where she earned her International Baccalaureate degree. She holds a BA in Studio Art from Luther College, Iowa, and an MFA in Ceramics from the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth.

Xi’s work has been shown across the United States, including exhibitions in Boston, Chicago, Cincinnati, Washington DC, New York and San Francisco. She was invited to exhibit at the National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts (NCECA) in Pittsburgh in 2018 and was awarded second place in a US national juried exhibition for emerging artists with disabilities in 2011. Xi is currently a full-time artist based Long Island City, New York.
