SEE EVENT DETAILS

This work-in-progress sharing will give insight into Alonzo King's artistic process, and explore the evolution of western ballet, including its eastern origins.

7:30pm: Seated program

8:30pm: Enjoy live music and light bites included with the cost of your ticket

This event serves as a prelude to LINES Ballet's Spring Season with Zakir Hussain.

Now celebrating its 35th year of being at the forefront of ballet’s evolution, Alonzo King LINES Ballet is a world-renowned contemporary ballet company. Under the leadership of visionary choreographer and Artistic Director Alonzo King, LINES Ballet draws on cultural traditions, scientific principles, and diverse collaborations to propel classical ballet towards global cultural relevance. LINES Ballet premieres new works in bi-annual seasons in San Francisco, which go on to tour nationally and internationally.

At home and abroad, LINES Ballet has remained steadfast in championing the truth that art can hasten personal evolution, heighten consciousness, and develop masterpieces of deeply thinking and deeply feeling human beings. This extends beyond the professional company to LINES Ballet’s commitment to dance education and community involvement. The organization currently serves Bay Area youth and adults through the LINES Ballet Training Program, Summer Program, BFA Program with Dominican University of California, Dance Center, and Community Programs.

This event is made possible by the Doris Duke Performing Artist Awards program.
