After their second location on Valencia Street succumbed to a fire in 2008, Martin took the opportunity to redevelop the Limon concept into a more casual establishment named Limon Rotisserie. The rotisserie concept would highlight spit-roasted pollo a la brasa (roasted chicken) cooked over open flame while continuing to serve their most well-loved dishes at family-friendly prices. Most important to the brothers was to create an atmosphere reminiscent of life in Peru – a place where locals could gather over shared plates and celebrate life’s occasions with memorable food & drink.
Today, the Castillo family continues to own & operate multiple Limon Rotisserie locations in the Bay Area & beyond. On October 25th of each year, we celebrate Limon Day – declared by San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee in 2011. As we continue to grow we will always remember our humble beginnings... for when life gives you limons, make lomo and leave the world wondering how you did it.
