21+ EVENT

Friday, April 12th The Midway, Euphonic Conceptions and Do LaB are leading the journey to Lightning in A Bottle with some of bass music’s most celebrated names from the West Coast and beyond. Warm up for six days at your home away from home with with Two Fingers, Ivy Lab, Thriftworks, Dorfex Bos, and Nico Luminous.

Two Fingers:

Two Fingers is the musical alter-ego of Amon Tobin. The first Two Fingers album was a collaboration with fellow producer Doubleclick. The eponymous release came out in 2009 and heavily featured UK vocalist Sway. The second album, "Stunt Rhythms" was a solo effort by Amon Tobin and was released worldwide by Big Dada in 2012. "Fools Rhythm," included in Ninja Tune's 20th anniversary "XX" box set, has proved to be one of the most popular tunes from that collection and Amon's way with bottom end continues to rearrange internal organs worldwide.

Ivy Lab:

Ivy Lab is a collaborative project between Sabre & Stray. Ivy Lab was brought together out of a shared enthusiasm for experimentations on the fringes of the UK bass music scene. They’ve, earned a place in ‘The top 10 DJ’s of 2015’ (Mixmag) and propagated a new generation of hip-hop inspired abstractions housed within the framework of their ’20/20 LDN’ project.

The duo now find themselves at the apex of the ‘Halftime’ / ‘Future Beats’ / movement - A motley assortment of actors from across the bass music landscape applying their sonic-heritage to experiments with hip-hop and drum machine electronica.

Thriftworks:

Berkeley, California based producer Thriftworks offers his own uniquely original take on forward thinking electronic music, weaving eclectic samples and explosive modern bass that continually pushes the envelope while taking the art of beat-crafting to new heights. Garnering much praise from fans and critics alike with his steady stream of new material, Thriftworks is quickly becoming known as one of the finest up and coming experimental producers with his outside the box sound and unclassifiable style.

Dorfex Bos:

Dorfex Bos is Angelo Tursi. Dorfex emerged from the early 2000s West Coast bass scene and his music is instantly recognizable by its eclectic, bass heavy beats that weave together elements of lush downtempo, dubstep, and left field electronica. Dorfex’s live show is a journey of emotion and low end vibration that incorporates original tracks from Tursi’s sizable back catalogue.

Nico Luminous:

Incorporating Beat-boxering, live looping, and a multitude of other instruments, his performances make for an unforgettable experience. He integrates his uplifting lyrics, and his well developed keyboard and Conga playing and often throws in his custom effects pedal belt for a show like you've never seen or heard before.
