Talented East Bay youth bring Victor Hugo's Les Misérables hit musical to Alameda! Do you hear the people sing? Les Miserables takes us to 19th century France, a time when the poor sacrifice their freedom and dignity to survive, until revolutionaries rise up and fight for a brighter future!!!
The story: Jean Valjean is on the run from the law as he transforms himself into an upstanding citizen; Javert, the gendarme obsessed with tracking him down; Cosette and Eponine, raised together by the vile Thenardier family, who grow up to love the same young revolutionary; and the many desperate, determined and tragic figures who make up this classic story of redemption, hope, and struggle.
