Lera Auerbach, the Russian-American composer, poet, and pianist will perform an all-Auerbach program with violinist Daniel Hope and cellist Joshua Roman. The program spans the last twenty years of her chamber music explorations, followed by more recent forays into traditional ensemble repertoire. The program concludes with the World Premiere of Auerbach's recently completed transcription for violin, cello and piano of Sergei Prokofiev's Flute Sonata in D Major, Op. 94, a work that Prokofiev himself transcribed for violin and piano, for the great David Oistrakh. There will also be a signing of her new book "Excess of Being," an evocative book of aphorisms, after the performance.
