Sanchez Art Center, Pacifica--Opening Friday, April 12, with a reception from 7-9 pm is the 2024 Left Coast Annual Exhibition. Juror Janna Keegan, Associate Curator, contemporary art and programming, Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco, selected 55 pieces from an impressive collection of more than 1000 entries by artists on the left coast (Alaska, California, Hawaii, Oregon, and Washington).
Keegan will talk about the process and selections, and artists in the show will share about their artwork in a virtual Gallery Walk, via Zoom, at 3:00 pm on Sunday, April 14. (A link to attend will be sent out via email and posted to the Sanchez Art Center Facebook page.) Showing concurrently is the 2023 LCA Awards Exhibition, featuring work by Tara Daly and Uma Rani Iyli, selected by 2023 juror Renee Cyla Villasenor, Institute of Contemporary Art, San Francisco. Live music by the Don Rowell Trio will provide added enjoyment for those attending the opening night reception, at no charge to the public.
After opening night, gallery hours are Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 1-5 pm, except during special events (SVOS, May 4 - 5, 11am -- 5 pm. And Sanchez Art Center welcomes spring with a fundraiser titled Art x Nature x Art.
