The Library presents a slide-illustrated lecture by historian and author Tim Thomas on the topic of his newest book The Abalone King of Monterey. Enjoy a little slice of Monterey history. Hear the story of how, in 1908, "Pop" Ernest Doelter transformed rubbery gastropods into an epicurean delight at this Alvarado Street restaurant. The lecture will be followed by book sale and signing.

Adults and mature teens are invited to attend. Admission is free, but reservations are required. Call 831.646.3949 or email [email protected]
