SEE EVENT DETAILS

Latona Odola

Latona Odola is at once a mournful celebration of darkness, ever seeking the gold within the shadows through soliloquy and the summoning of silence.

Joy Shannon & The Beauty Marks

Joy Shannon and the Beauty Marks are a Celtic pagan folk band fronted by the Irish instrumentalist singer Joy Shannon on Celtic harp and cello. Taking their name from the birth marks that once could condemn a woman to death for being a witch during the Middle Ages, the Beauty Marks have released 7 studio albums: “As in the Wilderness” (2008), “the Opium Wars or Love in Lieu of Laudanum” (2009), “The Black Madonna” (2010), “Out of My Dreams and Into My Arms” (2011), “The Oracle” (2013, Kalinkaland Records, Germany), “Mo Anam Cara” (2015) and “Aes Sídhe” (2017).

Shannon has performed throughout the US and Europe and collaborated with musicians throughout the dark music genres, including Gitane Demone of Christian Death, the blacknoise collective T.O.M.B. and the doom metal band Deathkings. Additionally, the Beauty Marks have created numerous theatrical music videos, including recreating a witch burning in “Midsummer Witchhunt” and Celtic mythological legends in “Mabon: Airmid Bring Back the Dead.”

ChiaraOscuro

ChiaraOscuro is the solo experimental ethereal project of vocalist, keyboardist, songwriter, and multimedia artist Chiara Viscomi. With a fearless reach for the emotional jugular, ChiaraOscuro creates soundscapes that vary from raw, anachronistic torch songs to lush, cinematic anthems. An intricate filigree of sound is created via the use of field recordings, live and prerecorded loops, effects processing, and a broad vocal palette, as well as unconventional recording locations and instrumentation.

The first ChiaraOscuro album, the "Pomegranate Wine EP," was self-released digitally via Bandcamp in early 2017. The title song, "Pomegranate Wine," was also featured on the ethereal/gothic Americana/dark romantic compilation "Snowflakes V," released in the fall of 2017 on German label At Sea Compilations. Watch the striking trailer for the "Pomegranate Wine" EP that documents the recording process at Battery Townsley, a reverb-drenched World War II-era battery, here: https://www.youtube.com/watch.
