Four time Grammy® winner, “Titan of Tone” award recipient and legendary guitar great, Larry Carlton is one of the most influential, prolific and original guitarists in the industry. Utterly unique, he has set a standard for artistry that spans three decades and two centuries.
Carlton’s own musical story began in Southern California. He picked up his first guitar when he was only 6 years old. He was introduced to Jazz in junior hight hen became interested in Barney Kessel, Wes Montgomery and the legendary Blues guitarist B.B. King. In 1968 he recorded his first LP, With A Little Help From My Friends. Carlton gained distinction for the unmistakable and often-imitated "sweet" sound he delivered with his Gibson ES-335. He broke new ground with his new trademark volume pedal technique, eloquently displayed on The Crusaders and Joni Mitchell albums.
He has released two albums with co-member of Fourplay, Lee Ritenour. He has his very own spot on Hollywood’s prestigious Rockwalk.
