CHOIRSTARTER
or
Some Like it Haunted!
We celebrate Lamplighters Music Theatre's 70th anniversary season with our spine-chilling, hilarious 2022 original Gala production, "Choirstarter! or, Some Like It Haunted" - a parody of the works of Stephen King and other masters of literary horror. Transport yourself to small-town Derry-Down-Derry, Maine, where famous novelist Steve KaChing ("Master of the Unsettling") mysteriously went missing seven years ago, and his niece has inherited his dilapidated -- and possibly haunted -- house. As Carrie, her wife Christine, and their son Danny explore their new surroundings, they meet their quirky neighbors, including Edgar, his husband Allen, their niece Charlie and dog Jojo, "stranger things" begin to happen, and normal life transcends to the paranormal. Why is the dog suddenly singing? What happened 70 years ago that changed everything? And what about that odd collection of gnomes in the garden?
Book by Mike Dederian, with new lyrics by The Lamplighters
Directed by Barbara Heroux, Conducted by Baker Peeples
As with all Lamplighters productions since returning live in October 2021, the Gala will be both live and simulcast on YouTube!!!!
Silent Auction at 2PM
Performance at 3PM
$100 and $75 in person; $50 simulcast.
Presented by Lamplighters Music Theatre
