The Kuumbwa Jazz Honor Band features the area’s most gifted young jazz musicians. Led by music educator Eddie Mendenhall and co-directed by Dillon Baiocchi, the audition-based jazz band challenges students to gain a mastery of improvisation and performance. Weekly rehearsals include continual advancement in music theory, arranging, composing, and jazz history. This band has been gigging around the Monterey Bay area over the course of the school year and is concluding with a grand finale concert on the Kuumbwa stage.
